Director

 Nova Scotia Power has released a notice of hiring eligible candidates for the post of Director. Candidates who are eligible and willing to join this post can apply for this post. They’re appointed at this post to lead the Environmental Services team and the administration of the NS Power Environmental Management System (EMS), including the development and implementation of emerging environmental policies. Job Description

  • Candidates working in this post are required to ensure compliance with legal requirements and conformance with the Emera EMS Standard.
  • They’re also accountable for environmental performance reporting across all aspects of NS Power operations.
  • Applicants for this post are also required to work with provincial and federal environmental regulators in support of NS Power’s operations working at this post. 
  • They’re also appointed at this post to provide guidance and support for environmental permitting, compliance monitoring, as well as risk identification and mitigation working at this post.  
  • Candidates are also appointed at this post to anticipate and communicate the impact of emerging environmental regulations and policy on the operations of the Company. 

Job requirement 

  • They must have a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Environment to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong relationship skills and an ability to work well with people at various levels within the organization to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must be innovative thinkers along with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.  
  • Candidates for this post must have exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must be comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines, exceptional prioritization, and organizational skills to be preferred for this post.

  • Candidates working in this post are responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
