Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for collecting and picking orchard cones using orchard ladders and lifts.
- The candidate will be responsible for pruning orchard trees using orchard ladders and lifts.
- The candidate must be able to use a variety of tools, including hand and power tools.
Job Requirements
- Preference may be given to applicants with manual labour or outdoor working experience.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working with plants, such as tree planter, gardener, landscaper, orchard worker, or cone picker, or equivalent training and experience.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
Additional information
Work conditions and physical capabilities
- The candidate must be physically fit and must lift supplies up to 25 kg for up to 30 metres, including bags of fertilizer and cone buckets, and operate equipment such as orchard lifts, pruners, weed eaters, and mowers on an ongoing basis.
- The candidate must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including cold winter conditions, and must tolerate exposure to allergens such as pollen, grass, and insects, as well as chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
- The candidate must be able to work at heights using lifts and ladders up to 5 metres.
