Job Description
- A Certified Dental Assistant supports dentists during treatments and helps with clinic.
- The role takes place on site at Luminous Dental Centre.
- The position includes assisting with dental procedures and supporting patient scheduling and records.
- Permanent part time position with about 32 – 40 hours per week depending on scheduling.
- The clinic operates Monday to Friday with one Saturday per month, with another weekday off when Saturday shifts occur.
- The workplace is a long standing family run dental clinic serving the local community.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during treatments and dental procedures.
- Take dental radiographs as required during patient visits.
- Help with sterilization of dental instruments and equipment.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments for patients.
- Manage patient files and update electronic medical records.
- Check if patients have insurance coverage.
- Help with billing and payment processing.
Requirements
- The role requires a valid Certified Dental Assistant license which must be held in British Columbia.
- The role requires at least two years of experience working as a CDA in a busy dental clinic.
- The candidate needs to possess experience in dental office work.
- The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in using electronic medical record systems.
- The applicant needs to understand dental terminology together with dental procedures.
- The position requires employees to demonstrate effective organizational abilities while performing multiple tasks.
- The candidate needs to exhibit strong social skills which enable him to interact effectively with patients and coworkers.
- The candidate needs to demonstrate his ability to work effectively within a dental clinic team environment.
- Experience using the Tracker system would be considered an asset.
- The candidate must be available to work weekdays and one Saturday per month.
