Job Description

• The candidate will be responsible for enforcing municipal and provincial regulations, investigating complaints, and issuing warnings and citations to commercial and residential property owners and occupants.
• The candidate will be responsible for enforcing parking by-laws on city streets, regional roads, municipal properties, and their occupants.
• The candidate will be responsible for responding to citizen complaints concerning stray domestic animals, livestock, and wildlife, issuing warnings and citations to owners, and impounding lost, homeless, or dangerous animals.
• The candidate will be required to investigate properties in violation of zoning and related by-laws upon receipt of building permit applications.
• The candidate will be responsible for investigating public complaints, issuing citations, preparing reports, and providing evidence to city councils, taxi commissions, and in court.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must have completed By-law enforcement training courses.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should be dependable.
• The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

• The candidate should undergo a thorough criminal record check, driver’s licence validity check, and driving record check (abstract).
• The candidate must be bondable.
