Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate must inspect motors in operation, road test vehicles, and test automotive systems and components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for adjusting, repairing, or replacing parts and components of automotive systems.
  • The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate must repair or replace mechanical units or components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • The candidate must estimate the cost of parts and labour to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • The candidate must perform scheduled maintenance service.
  • The candidate will be responsible for advising customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • The candidate must complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • The candidate must review work orders and discuss work with the supervisor.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification, Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate, and be a Tire, Wheel, and Rim mechanic.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be punctual.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty, dirty and hot conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

  • The candidate must work in a garage and a shop.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about Engine repair, 4-wheel drive, Electrical and electronic system, Diesel engines, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Automatic transmission, Engine repair and overhaul and Welding.
