Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for feeding aquaculture stock.
  • The candidate must cull, mark, or tag stock and report stock irregularities.
  • The candidate will be expected to operate, maintain, and clean pumps, filters, and other aquaculture equipment.
  • The candidate must clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures.
  • The candidate will be required to transfer stock to tanks in trucks and pack stock in special containers.
  • The candidate will be required to drive tank trucks or supply trucks.
  • The candidate will be required to spread and dry marine plants.
  • The candidate will be required to dig shellfish from shellfish beds.
  • The candidate will be required to clean, sort, and pack shellfish.
  • The candidate will be expected to help aquaculture technicians run fish hatcheries or other aquatic farms.
  • The candidate will be responsible for grading and weighing aquaculture stocks.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate must be flexible.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work in and on water.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp and cold/refrigerated conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in a public fish hatchery and a fish farm.
  • The candidate’s relocation expenses will not be covered by the employer.
  • The candidate must be willing to relocate to the specified location.
