Job Description
- The candidate will respond to general inquiries from staff, clients, partners, and stakeholders over the telephone or at the counter and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- The candidate will provide administrative support by preparing correspondence, minutes, forms, reports, and briefing packages.
- The candidate will coordinate travel arrangements and manage conference room bookings for staff.
- The candidate will assist with a variety of office duties, including pre-org information, processing program-related forms, updating documents, records management, and mail functions, as required.
- The candidate will assist with tracking basic financial transactions, including invoices and travel expenses.
- The candidate will assist the work unit by providing daily data input reporting.
- The candidate must monitor communication systems used by local field staff and provide logistical support.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with information gathering for contracts as required.
- The candidate will be responsible for participating in facilities maintenance as required.
- The candidate will be responsible for arranging maintenance and repairs for office equipment.
- The candidate must order stationery and office supplies and complete the corresponding paperwork.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with organizing fire preparedness needs and liaising with fire personnel and equipment operators as required.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with staffing documentation and orientation in accordance with branch procedures.
- The candidate will be responsible for supporting BCWS health, safety, and engagement culture initiatives by modelling professional behaviour that promotes respect, inclusiveness, and effective communication.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing duties within the Incident Command System as assigned.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- The candidate must have experience working in an office setting.
- The candidate must remain flexible in adapting to ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments, and corporate structures.
- The candidate must stay informed about emerging issues relevant to the role.
- The candidate must complete in-house training and certification as required.
- The candidate must participate in Incident Command System positions as assigned.
- The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence, where required for the position.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.

Work conditions
- The candidate must travel by fixed-wing and rotary aircraft as required.
- The candidate must be available to work extended hours, including weekends, and remain on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan.
- The candidate must travel and stay overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary, as required.
- The candidate must be able to work under adverse or stressful conditions, including smoke, extreme heat, and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated locations.
