Job Description

The candidate must plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
The candidate must maintain a professional demeanour in customer service.
The candidate must load and unload goods.
The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
The candidate must have an AZ Class license, Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, Class 1/1F/A License (for semi-trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate, and a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
The candidate should be reliable.
The candidate should be a good team player.
The candidate must be hardworking.
The candidate must have patience.

The candidate must be able to work in multiple locations to support employees stationed at various worksites.

Documentation knowledge

The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (including pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip reports), and trip reports.
