Job Description

  • The candidate must plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate must maintain a professional demeanour in customer service.
  • The candidate must load and unload goods.
  • The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
  • The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
  • The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have an AZ Class license, Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, Class 1/1F/A License (for semi-trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate, and a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be hardworking.
  • The candidate must have patience.

  • The candidate must be able to work in multiple locations to support employees stationed at various worksites.

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (including pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip reports), and trip reports.

Security and safety

  • The candidate must undergo a driver’s licence validity check.

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

  • The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in a sitting position.
