Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for providing program support along with general administrative and clerical support to a children and families office, working directly with professional staff on program responsibilities.
- The candidate will report to an Office Manager or Administrative Supervisor but will receive day-to-day direction primarily from social worker team leads, social workers, and social worker assistants.
- The candidate will be the primary point of contact for client intake.
- The candidate will be required to apply a higher level of job knowledge to provide program support in areas such as mental health, child protection, guardianship, adoption, or related programs, either focused on one program or across multiple service areas.
Job Requirements
- The candidate will be required to have Grade 12 graduation or an equivalent qualification.
- The candidate must have at least one year of experience providing administrative support in an office setting.
- The candidate is required to have a minimum of six months’ experience working in a computerized environment using computer applications and databases, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for document preparation, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and video conferencing, and experience with case management or related databases.
- The candidate must have experience delivering professional customer or client service and responding appropriately to client needs.
- The candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team within a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with professional staff, clients, and service providers.
- The candidate may be considered if they have completed an Administrative Business Skills course or program as an equivalent to experience.
- The candidate should possess experience providing administrative support in a human/social services setting involving vulnerable children and families.
- The candidate must have experience using MCFD applications such as Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS).
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
