Job Description
- Plant Assistant role supporting facility maintenance and trades work

Responsibilities
- Assist trades staff in electrical, plumbing and mechanical tasks
- Troubleshoot and support maintenance of equipment and systems
- Install, remove and inspect safety equipment
- Clean parts and maintain tools and equipment
- Repair doors, ceiling tiles and facility items
- Perform routine maintenance to keep facilities in good condition
- Handle basic servicing of pumps, motors, fans and HVAC systems
Requirements
- A secondary school diploma according to provincial standards is required.
- Experience working in industrial or commercial maintenance settings is required.
- Work history maintaining and troubleshooting equipment such as tools and building systems is needed.
- Work history following workplace safety procedures and using PPE is required.
- Work history handling hazardous or chemical products is necessary.
- Work history working at heights is required.
- Work history operating lifts or heavy equipment is required.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools is expected.
- Knowledge of safety standards and occupational health regulations is required.
- Can troubleshoot and maintain equipment is necessary.
- Can read and understand drawings or sketches is required.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain Reliability security clearance.
