Job Description

  • Plant Assistant role supporting facility maintenance and trades work
  • Works fully on-site in a hands-on industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist trades staff in electrical, plumbing and mechanical tasks
  • Troubleshoot and support maintenance of equipment and systems
  • Install, remove and inspect safety equipment
  • Clean parts and maintain tools and equipment
  • Repair doors, ceiling tiles and facility items
  • Perform routine maintenance to keep facilities in good condition
  • Handle basic servicing of pumps, motors, fans and HVAC systems

Requirements

  • A secondary school diploma according to provincial standards is required.
  • Experience working in industrial or commercial maintenance settings is required.
  • Work history maintaining and troubleshooting equipment such as tools and building systems is needed.
  • Work history following workplace safety procedures and using PPE is required.
  • Work history handling hazardous or chemical products is necessary.
  • Work history working at heights is required.
  • Work history operating lifts or heavy equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools is expected.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and occupational health regulations is required.
  • Can troubleshoot and maintain equipment is necessary.
  • Can read and understand drawings or sketches is required.
  • A valid Class 5 driverโ€™s license.
  • Must be able to obtain Reliability security clearance.
