Job description
- Maintain park turf through mowing, trimming, fertilizing and litter removal
- Operate mechanized grounds maintenance and grass cutting equipment
- Set up semi-automatic and automatic irrigation systems
- Clean and complete minor repairs to park washrooms and facilities
- Maintain benches, playing fields, walkways and ice rinks
- Assist with horticultural beds and shrub maintenance
- Set up park equipment including benches and sports posts
- Clear snow and maintain walkways and entrances
- Perform general park upkeep and related duties as assigned
Job requirements
- Background in grounds maintenance and/or horticulture preferably in a park setting
- Background operating grounds maintenance and grass cutting equipment
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence
- Can work outdoors in all weather conditions
- The person can work during weekends and shift hours and additional unexpected work hours when necessary. The individual has knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- The person can follow verbal directions and written instructions.
