Job Description
- The candidate must assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments.
- The candidate must assist in surgery.
- The candidate must engage in community program development.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients and advising the physician of any changes in their condition.
- The candidate must participate in community needs assessment.
- The candidate must assess patients in order to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
- The candidate must perform a disease screening.
- The candidate must deliver health education programs.
- The candidate must deliver immunization programs.
- The candidate must dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
- The candidate will be responsible for operating or monitoring medical equipment or apparatus.
- The candidate must be able to provide nursing care.
- The candidate must perform administrative tasks.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must hold an Acute Care Nursing Certificate, a Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) neonatal resuscitation program Certification, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate, and a First Aid Certificate.
- The candidate must be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by the province of work, a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities and a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by provincial authorities.
- The candidate should be accurate.
- The candidate should be client focused.
- The candidate must have excellent written communication skills.
- The candidate must be flexible.
- The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
- The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
Work setting
- The candidate will be expected to work in a hospital or home for the aged, a physician’s office, a private clinic, a public or community health centre, a retirement home, and a long-term care facility.
Experience and specialization
Type of treatment experience
- The candidate must be familiar with pain management.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about the cardiothoracic unit, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, gynecology, neonatology, neurology, nursery, palliative care, urology, and ophthalmology.

Security and safety
- The candidate should undergo a thorough child abuse registry check, criminal background check, drug test, tuberculosis test and vulnerable sector check.
- The candidate must have proof of immunization.
