Job Description

The candidate would be responsible for sorting and packing fruits and vegetables.
The candidate will be required to pick row and orchard crops
The candidate must load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
The candidate must select and pick mushrooms based on size and ripeness, while discarding rotting and over-ripe produce.
The candidate will be required to plant mushroom spawn or spores using hand tools and farm machinery.
The candidate will be required to cultivate, fertilise, spray, and harvest mushrooms using hand tools or farm machinery.
The candidate will be expected to perform appropriate duties in order to control weed growth, insects, diseases, and undesirable fungus growth.
The candidate will be required to irrigate land for crop growth.
The candidate will be responsible for grading, sorting, bunching, and packing produce into containers.
The candidate will be responsible for loading the filled containers onto trucks.
The candidate must use hands and arms to handle product.
All packing and stacking duties will be performed in the field and on the farm.
The candidate will be expected to keep work areas clean, orderly, and well-organized.
The candidate will be required to ensure that the fruit you pick has been weighed and recorded
The candidate will be required to obtain cartons and crates depending on the type of fruit that needs to be packed.
The candidate must select each item and inspect it for conformance.
The candidate will be expected to label fruits in accordance with the instructions supplied.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the stock facilities are kept in accordance with hygiene standards, as well as regulating the temperature, heating, and air conditioning of storage facilities.
When picking, the candidate will be required to take the necessary health and safety precautions, such as maintaining proper posture, operating tools and machinery safely, and wearing appropriate clothing and weather protection.
The candidate will be responsible for watering all mushroom crops and ensuring proper growth and health.
The candidate will be expected to uphold and follow food safety policies and practises.
The candidate must examine the quality of the product and get it ready for the market.
The candidate will be required to removes dry leaf debris from crop using both hands.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English
There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma .
Previous experience in the farming industry is not mandatory.
Knowledge of farming best practices would be an added advantage.
The candidate should be a good team player with enough interpersonal and judge-mental skills.
