Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for administering medications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring infection control.
  • The candidate must observe and record the therapeutic and side effects of medications.
  • The candidate must provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing nursing services to patients within a defined scope of practise based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
  • The candidate must monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing general information to clients and the public.
  • The candidate will need to plan programs of assistance for clients.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising licenced practical nurses and other nursing personnel.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College/CEGEP diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be eligible for practical nurse licensure in the province/territory of employment, as well as have a CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.

  • The candidate must work in home care and visiting care agency.

Experience and specialization

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about geriatrics, medical units, orthopedics, palliative care, consulting, rehabilitation, and mental health.
