Job Description
- Candidates are required for inspection, maintenance and repair of fire hydrants.
- They’re required to support City capital and private development works related to water distribution and buried infrastructure.
- Candidates are responsible for providing manual labour to support other Unit or Branch staff with the inspection, operation, maintenance and repair of Water Services infrastructure.
- They’re also responsible for assisting with the operation and maintenance of the City’s fire hydrants and providing other support to the Unit.
Job requirement
- Candidates must conduct themselves following the City’s Code of Conduct and other City policies to reflect a good image to the public, contractors and other City of Ottawa employees.
- They must ensure the safe operation of equipment and tools.
- Candidate must attain the skills to use a computer and learn to operate mobile handheld units.
- Candnage must attain mechanical aptitude and the ability to communicate effectively.
- They must attain good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and independently when required.
