Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to deliver interpretive presentations, guided hikes/tours, public interpretation programs, activities and special events. 
  • Candidates are also appointed to record visitor statistics, provide visitor information and respond to inquiries in person and over the phone.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain a secondary school diploma or equivalency approved by the PSC, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to the position.
  • Candidates must have experience in delivering messages/information to groups in face-to-face situations with the purpose of education, engagement, entertainment or motivation.
  • Candidates must have dedicated knowledge of communication, presentation and interpretive techniques such as storytelling, demonstration, theatre programs or guided walks to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain the ability to interact and deliver messaging and information to the visiting public to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain the ability to work effectively in teams and attain dedicated experience in performing arts, heritage interpretation, adult education, museum education, or storytelling. 
  • Candidates must ensure the willingness to work or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation. 
  • Candidates must provide their transportation to and from the workplace to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain possession of a valid class 5 Driver’s License and willingness to obtain First Aid Certification to be eligible for this post.  

Work setting 

  • They must be exposed to stress when responding to fluctuating, unpredictable visitor demands and requirements to be eligible for this post.
