Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to deliver interpretive presentations, guided hikes/tours, public interpretation programs, activities and special events.
- Candidates are also appointed to record visitor statistics, provide visitor information and respond to inquiries in person and over the phone.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain a secondary school diploma or equivalency approved by the PSC, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to the position.
- Candidates must have experience in delivering messages/information to groups in face-to-face situations with the purpose of education, engagement, entertainment or motivation.
- Candidates must have dedicated knowledge of communication, presentation and interpretive techniques such as storytelling, demonstration, theatre programs or guided walks to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to interact and deliver messaging and information to the visiting public to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to work effectively in teams and attain dedicated experience in performing arts, heritage interpretation, adult education, museum education, or storytelling.
- Candidates must ensure the willingness to work or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
- Candidates must provide their transportation to and from the workplace to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain possession of a valid class 5 Driver’s License and willingness to obtain First Aid Certification to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- They must be exposed to stress when responding to fluctuating, unpredictable visitor demands and requirements to be eligible for this post.
