Job Description
- Candidates will have to act as the point of contact for suppliers, manufacturers, contractors and consultants promoting.
- They’re also appointed for enquiring or seeking material or product approval from the City for use in the construction of municipal infrastructure and the point of contact for explanation and clarification of published standards.
- Candidates will have to chair and participate in various internal committees and external work groups that review and update technical standards.
- Candidates will have to conduct research and consolidate and synthesize information for use by the City of Ottawa to support product approvals.
Job requirement
- They must effectively communicate verbally with all organizational levels, consultants and customers at all levels.
- Candidates must evaluate and approve new material and equipment through the review of technical literature, test results and discussions with internal and external contacts.
- Candidates must read the specifications, drawings, and plans of the distribution system.
- Candidate must be able to work well under pressure
- They must have to set priorities and deal effectively with multiple demands and conflicting priorities.
- Candidates must have to deal with difficult people including customers, suppliers, staff contractors and consultants
Work setting
- Candidates will have to prepare tender proposals and contract documentation.
- They must have to plan, implement, control, complete and inspect project plans as assigned with minimal supervision.
