Job Description 

  • Candidates are appointed to mobilize and train communities to advocate on their behalf regarding community safety issues. 
  • They’re also appointed to integrate youth engagement, high-risk intervention and youth violence prevention approaches to community crisis prevention, intervention and preparation work. 
  • Candidates are appointed to integrate diverse family supports for community crisis prevention, intervention and preparation work
  • They’re also appointed to design, develop and age-appropriate training tools, community outreach materials and education sessions and programs for diverse audiences. 

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must have a dedicated post-secondary education certificate in Sociology, Social Work, Community Health Promotion and other related fields. 
  • Candidates must attain the ability to utilize response approaches such as psychological first aid and trauma-informed approaches.
  • They must attain excellent knowledge of the human service system in the City.
  • Candidates must attain dedicated management, administrative and customer service skills to be eligible for this post. 

Work setting 

  • They must attain the ability to work flexible hours which may include overtime, shift work, occasional evenings and weekends.
