Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools.
  • The candidate must be able to measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • The candidate must build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • The candidate must fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and renovating residential and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in construction trades and crafts, including bricklaying, stonemasonry, carpentry, joinery, demolition, electrical work, painting and decorating, plumbing, scaffolding, steeple jacking, and wall and floor work.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate’s relocation costs should be covered by the employer, allowing the employer to contribute to the employee’s relocation costs incurred in moving closer to the company’s offices or other work locations as required.
  • The candidate should work in the renovation industry, repairing and improving broken, damaged, or outdated structures.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.
  • he candidate should work in a commercial setting that fosters a workplace environment with highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees, all working towards a common goal.
  • The candidate should work in residential settings, focusing on tasks performed on one, two, and three-family dwellings, which include maintenance, renovation, and construction activities.
