Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance work related to the operation and service maintenance of ice arenas and associated buildings and equipment in municipal recreation facilities.
  • The candidate will carry out ice making and ice resurfacing duties as required.
    The candidate will maintain and repair building equipment used in arena operations.
  • The candidate will perform custodial and cleaning duties within the arena and related facility spaces.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have completed Grade 11 or equivalent.
  • The candidate must hold Refrigerator Operator (RO) certification.
  • The candidate must have between three months and six months of related experience.
  • The candidate must hold WHMIS certification valid within the last one year.
  • The candidate must hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence.
  • The candidate with an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Security & Safety

  • The candidate must provide a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last six months.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate must be physically capable of performing the work and maintaining stamina for rotating shifts.
  • The candidate will work in a recreational setting.
