Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of Global Merchandising Managers who report directly to the Director, inspiring, coaching, and guiding team members to develop their skills and deliver on business priorities.
  • The candidate must design and manage the global merchandising strategy for all product categories.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of line plans for assigned product categories that deliver the design vision and achieve sales, gross margin, and sales productivity goals across all channels.
  • The candidate will be responsible for executing omni-channel product assortment strategies and supporting digital growth initiatives.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle and go-to-market process for assigned product categories through effective teamwork and partnership with all Product teams.
  • The candidate must lead the seasonal line planning process and style count in partnership with Design, Development, and Planning teams to ensure seasonal alignment.
  • The candidate will be required to develop and drive pricing architecture across assigned product categories in collaboration with Merchandising and Design leadership to ensure consistency across the brand.
  • The candidate must collaborate closely with international buying teams to ensure regional needs are incorporated into the global line plan and that the global roadmap is successfully executed across all regions.
  • The candidate must collaborate with cross-functional teams outside of Product, including Global Brand & Community, Strategy, Operations Excellence, and Supply Chain teams, to bring the design vision to life for guests.
  • The candidate will be responsible for informing the Design team at key internal milestones with strategic insights and identifying additional product assortment or business growth opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have 10+ years of experience in a merchant or buyer role, including at least 5 years of management experience.
  • The candidate must have 1–2 years of experience as a Director or Senior Manager.
  • The candidate will be required to demonstrate experience working for a Global Brand and a strong understanding of global brand operations.
  • The candidate must have experience working in a vertical retail environment.
  • The candidate must have omni-channel experience, which is highly desirable.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain awareness of macro lifestyle and fashion trends and their impact on the active and wellness industry.
  • The candidate must possess a strong understanding of the global marketplace, including major shifts in trends and consumer activity.
  • The candidate must demonstrate mastery of retail mathematics and Open to Buy, with the ability to interpret and apply financial insights from current business performance to inform future range plans.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams while influencing creative and business partners.
  • The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a self-starter approach to work, with a strong commitment to consistently meet and exceed objectives while taking on additional responsibilities.
  • The candidate must demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make decisions and take calculated risks.
  • The candidate must focus on creating an extraordinary guest experience while demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The candidate must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
