Job Description

The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
The candidate must be able to operate manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated welding equipment.
The candidate must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
The candidate must examine welds to ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
The candidate must be able to operate either manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
The candidate must be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
The candidate must be capable of fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal.
The candidate must determine the weldability of materials.
The candidate must be able to operate previously set-up welding machines in order to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in French language.
The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
Candidate having experience is an asset.
The candidate must have Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification, Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, Pressure Welding Certification, and Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate.
The candidate should be client focused.

The candidate should work in the industrial area with facilities such as factories, plants, processing operations, and similar operations.

Experience and specialization

Type of materials

Materials include aluminum alloys, stainless steel, steel, iron, and heavy metals.

Welding techniques

Welding techniques include shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux core arc welding (FCAW), fusion welds, orbital welding, and multipass welding.

Area of specialization

The candidate must be specialized in custom fabrication, large diameter pipelines, structural construction, factory assembly, cast iron and other metals, and process piping.
