Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for managing new team member onboarding for process and procedures.
  • The candidate will be required to work directly with client teams to understand the overall business objectives and strategies, as well as how each digital project interacts with the others.
  • The candidate will be expected to evangelise technologically advanced solutions and collaborate with the creative team to incorporate technology into initiatives.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple digital projects for multiple clients while prioritising on the fly
  • The candidate must manage complex and vendor-dependent projects.
  • The candidate will be responsible for project research, proposal development, budget development, vendor sourcing, and day-to-day project execution and logistics.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining project plans, developing action plans for issues, tracking risk mitigation plans, and making recommendations as needed to advance all digital platforms.
  • The candidate will be expected to manage and provide consultative services and specialised expertise in web usability, customer experience, digital storytelling, and interactive web design.
  • The candidate will be required to keep logs for all digital platforms to track issues, action items, risks, queries, and change management.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing and reporting on project metrics such as progress, actual dates, and scope.
  • The candidate will be responsible for creating, developing, testing, and maintaining a library of digital assets that can be used across all digital channels.
  • The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the vendor to deliver an effective and award-winning platform for customer communications and digital storytelling.
  • The candidate will be expected to review project and project status files for integrity, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • The candidate will be expected to design, develop, or coordinate the use of project facilities, ensuring that technical and physical resources are available to meet the requirements of digital projects.
  • The candidate will be expected to advance the digital conversation with other areas of Hydro One such as Customer Care, Lines of Business, and ISD through the use of standards, methodologies, architectures, and so on.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing and motivating project staff and contractors in order to deliver project methodologies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that resources deliver the desired results within budget and on time.
  • To achieve the desired results, the candidate will be required to negotiate with and influence the behaviour of vendors and service providers.
  • The candidate will be expected to communicate and translate Hydro One strategies and direction to staff, contractors, and vendors in order to align project objectives with the Strategy’s goals.
  • The candidate will be expected to build team alignment among diverse staff, contractors, and vendor personnel.
  • The candidate must demonstrate business acumen by translating technical options into business objectives and measurable communication outcomes.
  • The candidate must resolve conflicts and issues and escalate issues as needed.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • A candidate with a postsecondary degree in design or communications is preferred.
  • The candidate must have 5 to 8 years of experience leading digital design and development projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience successfully leading integrated teams for digital projects.
  • The candidate must be well-versed in product development, design thinking methodologies, and user experience.
  • The candidate must have experience translating data into design and leveraging strategies to establish direction and strategies.
  • The candidate must possess Effective negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
  • At all times, the candidate must maintain calm and remain solution-focused.
  • The candidate must have prior experience managing project finances.
  • The candidate must have extensive experience with web technologies (Agile, Scrum)
  • Experience in developing mobile apps (iOS/Android) or social apps (Facebook, etc.) is a plus.
  • The candidate should have prior experience developing a wide range of web sites, platforms, and applications.
  • The candidate should have Proven success in staying up to date on current digital technology and how it applies to a client’s business.
  • The candidate should have prior experience developing project and resource plans.
  • The candidate should be a good team player with enough interpersonal and judge-mental skills.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication.
  • The ideal candidate will be client-focused.
