Job Description
- The candidate must plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
- The candidate must have mountain driving experience.
- The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
- The candidate must drive lighter, special-purpose trucks.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
- The candidate must oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect the brakes, tires, lights, cold storage, and other equipment.
- The candidate must perform brake adjustments.
- The candidate must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.
- The candidate must perform preventive maintenance.
- The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with government regulations.
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about licensing regulations.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades, or equivalent experience as a truck and bus driver/commercial vehicle operator, and instructor.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, a Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), a Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer trucks, vehicles with more than 3 axles), a Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles, and buses with fewer than 24 passengers), a Commercial Driver Registration Program (CDRP) Card, and Skid Control Training Certification.
- The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs).

- Trucking and equipment types include liquid bulk and tractor-trailer B train.
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have both long-haul and short-haul travel experience.
- The candidate must have travel experience in national, provincial/territorial, and regional locations.
