Job Description

  • Candidates interested in this post are required to provide social work services and case management services to the students and their families, including conducting assessments, counselling, and group work working at this post.
  • People who applied for this post are also required to work as part of a multidisciplinary educational and mental health team working at this post.
  • Candidates interested in this post are also accountable for providing individual counselling to youth and providing child management skills to parents and schools working at this post.
  • Applicants interested in this post are also required to liaise with teachers, staff, and other professionals working at this post.

Job requirement

  • Applicants must have completed Current registration as a Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers to be eligible for this post.
  • They must have completed a master’s degree in Social Work to be preferred for this post.
  • Candidates applying for this post must have prior knowledge of child development, social and environmental influences, cultural diversity, family systems and age-appropriate change strategies to be preferred for this post.
  • People applying for this post must attain the ability to use computers and related software to prepare reports and maintain case documentation.
  • They must have demonstrated counselling and caseload management skills to be preferred for this post.
  • People applying for this post must have prior fluency in or willingness to obtain ASL will be pivotal in making connections with students and families to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting

  • Candidates are required to have well-developed research and recording skills for documentation.
  • They must have dedicated presentation skills to deliver training workshops to parents, staff and school boards to be considered as an asset for this post.
