Job description

  • Candidates will provide direction and leadership to the Wabasca nursing and local home care team, and to other AHS teams supporting the healthcare center.
  • They will supervise and support, assess, plan, and evaluate the operations and activities of the site, communicate with key stakeholders, and participate in quality improvement and budget management processes.
  • They will possess skills in critical and analytical thinking, decision making, communication, teamwork, prioritization, time management, advocacy, and conflict management.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have a Diploma or degree in a health-related field.
  • They must have a minimum of 5 years in a management role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. 
  • They must have a demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment. 
  • They must have knowledge of legislation and regulation related to healthcare.

Work setting

  • Candidates must attain experience working with healthcare regulations and registration. 
  • They must have previous experience working with collective agreements.
  • They must have experience with the Protection for Persons in Care Act (PPC Act). 
  • They must have experience working with North Zone Indigenous communities and experience in local Indigenous culture. 
  • Candidates must have a combination of education and experience.
