Job description
- Candidates will make the evaluation of parts for reuse, repair or replacement.
- Candidates will perform maintenance and low voltage repairs of locomotive electrical systems.
- Candidates maintain, inspect, service, test and repair all systems on locomotives, mobile equipment.
- They perform modification and construct mechanical assemblies.
- They will work on blueprints, schematic drawings, service manuals and other information.
- They will Use various hand and power hand tools.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
- They must have completed previous apprenticeships.
- They must have the ability to provide proof of apprenticeship.
- They must have strong problem solving and computer skills.
- They must be able to work within strict established safety and work guidelines/rules to complete the job.
Work setting
- Candidates must have general experience in the mentioned apprenticeship applicable.
- They must have journeyman automotive technician certification, and journeyman electrician certification.
- They must have a local Journeyman/Journeywomen 101R card .
- They must be able to work on various shifts and days off.
