New Leaf Psychology Centre based in 400 Main Street East, Suite 210 Milton, ON L9T 4X5 is inviting applications from suitable applicants for the position of Psychometrist who are self-motivated and have good interpersonal skills. The offices of New Leaf Psychology Centre have reopened to provide psychoeducational assessments. Some assessment and therapy services will continue to be provided online via videoconferencing or telephone. We hope to contribute to the reduction of COVID-19 transmission and to protect the vulnerable and those who are unable to be vaccinated. We are currently accepting new clients for assessment and therapy, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to administer and score psychological tests, under the supervision of a registered psychologist
  • The candidate will be required to administer, apply and interpret tests, scales and psychological measures
  • The candidate will be in charge of supervising staff, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as research assistants.
  • The candidate will be in charge of scheduling consultations and ensuring that testing environments are free of extraneous variables.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that you have all the requisite tools before testing begins.
  • The candidate will be in charge of informing clients of the purpose of each session prior to its start.
  • The candidate will be in charge of administering and re-administering instruments in a standardised manner.
  • If necessary, the candidate will be in charge of debriefing clients following the completion of testing.
  • The candidate will be in charge of scoring raw data and applying appropriate norms.
  • The candidate will be in charge of contextualising data in order to determine whether clients are functioning normally or abnormally.
  • The candidate will be in charge of compiling reports outlining the results obtained and their implications.
  • Unless otherwise specified, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring that you use the most recent version of each test.
  • The candidate will be responsible for keeping hospital officials updated about the status of referrals by making progress notes in the medical record.
  • The candidate will be responsible for attending training conferences offered by the department as well as by outside organisations.
  • The candidate will be responsible for reviewing information to ensure its timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security.
  • The candidate must follow Infection Control and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • The candidate will be in charge of creating bills for businesses and facilities that use their services.
  • The candidate will be in charge of coding procedures for insurance purposes.
  • Prior to completing testing, the candidate will be required to do inventory checks on forms and tools required.
  • The candidate will be expected to make sure that inpatients who have been referred to the division for testing are seen in a timely manner.
