Job description
- All candidates will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating detailed plans.
- They will also manage assigned projects, ensuring effective teamwork, communication and high standards of work quality to advance the Division’s initiatives in a complex municipal environment.
- They will also represent the Division at project-related community engagements, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Candidates will prepare project plans, reports and status updates for senior staff, City Council and/or public reference.
Job requirement
- Candidates must hold Post-secondary education in planning, civil engineering, project management, or a discipline pertinent to the job function or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- They must have considerable experience working on complex multidisciplinary projects in transportation or infrastructure planning, engineering, and/or design.
- Candidates are also required to have experience leading project teams and developing collaborative internal and external business relationships.
Work setting
- Candidates must have Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including: verbal or typed conversation, formal presentation, written document, active listening, and attentive observation.
- They also must have the ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide work direction to staff.
- Candidates also must have ability to effectively represent the Division and to maintain relations and work with community and elected officials, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the general public.
