Job description

  • Candidates will oversee a staff team in the review and evaluation of development applications through the Official Plan Amendment, Rezoning, Site Plan Control and Committee of Adjustment processes as well as stand-alone heritage permits.ย 
  • They will be to ensure conformity with the Planning Act and the Ontario Heritage Act, in accordance with Council-directed and legislated timeframes, and priorities and the Council adopted Standards.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have a persuasive communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • They have to represent the Unit and City heritage planning interests before the Toronto Preservation Board, Community Councils, Planning and Housing Committee and other standing committees, advisory committees.ย 
  • They are responsible for interpreting legislation

Work setting

  • Candidates are accountable for managing staff in securing, through the development review process, studies and legal agreements that bind heritage property owners and/or Council to ensure the conservation of heritage resources, including Designation By-laws, Heritage Easement Agreements, Heritage Impact Assessments, Conservation Plans and Letters of Credit.
