Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are responsible for managing, developing and implementing a wide range of strategic policies, including legislation related to IM and IT.  
  • They’re also responsible for researching and analyzing information management-related initiatives and identifying potential risks and barriers. 
  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to develop strategies and action plans, manage strategic cross-government information management legislative and policy initiatives, leading cross-government information assessment projects. 
  • They’re also appointed to provide confidential advice and information to senior Ministry and government officials, businesses and not-for-profit organizations. 
  • Candidates working in this post are responsible for information management-related core policy. 

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain an undergraduate degree in a related discipline such as public administration, business administration, law, and social sciences. 
  • They must attain 3 years’ recent related experience in a public sector policy or legislative environment to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain dedicated experience in developing and analyzing policy, legislation and regulations.
  • They must attain demonstrated experience with research and analysis of complex policy and legislation issues.
  • Candidates must attain dedicated experience in planning and coordinating complex projects or assignments within a collaborative work environment and leveraging the use of collaboration and communication tools.
  • They must have dedicated experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of briefing documents or content for various audiences, including senior executives.
  • Candidates must attain an equivalent combination of education and experience to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must have dedicated experience working with FOIPPA, PIPA, or the IMA or working in the Citizens’ Services sector.

Work setting 

  • Candidates must have experience developing and analyzing policy legislation and regulations in the BC public sector environment.
