Job Description
- The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
- The candidate will be responsible for coaching colleagues on new methods or work techniques.
- The candidate must have experience and skill in mountain driving.
- The candidate must maintain a professional demeanour in customer service.
- The candidate must arrange travel and related itineraries, as well as make reservations.
- The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
- The candidate must drive lighter, special-purpose trucks.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must obtain special permits and other documents required for international cargo transport.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
- The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
- The candidate must pay for and receive payments for goods.
- The candidate must perform brake adjustments.
- The candidate must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.

- The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
- The candidate must have Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification, and a Driver’s license (Class 1 or A).
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- The candidate should be organized and flexible.
- The candidate should have good judgemental skills.

Experience and specialization
Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation and trip reports.
Type of trucking and equipment
- The candidate must have experience operating refrigerated trucks, straight trucks (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), and tractor-trailers.
Communication systems experience
- The candidate must be familiar with the Citizens Band (CB) radio and the Trip recorder (onboard computer).
- The candidate will be responsible for operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigational equipment.
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have experience with transportation and travel at the international, national, provincial/territorial, and regional levels.
- The candidate must have experience with long-haul travel.

Security and safety
- The candidate must have a valid passport.

- The candidate should undergo a thorough basic security clearance, a criminal background check, a driver’s license validity check, a driving record check (abstract), and a drug test.
