Job Description

  • The candidate must water and care for plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • The candidate must plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
  • The candidate must plant and move trees.
  • The candidate must weed, prune, and trim trees and plants.
  • The candidate must be able to maintain and repair equipment.
  • The candidate must remove garbage and litter.
  • The candidate must plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs.
  • The candidate must lay sod or seed.
  • The candidate must cut grass.
  • The candidate must cart and spread topsoil and other materials.
  • The candidate must assist with landscape construction.
  • The candidate must apply fertilizers.
  • The candidate must rake and collect trash.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.

  • The candidate should work as a landscape contractor to create and construct large and small projects for residential and commercial properties.
  • The candidate should work in the landscape maintenance division, which is the art and profession of keeping a landscape healthy, clean, safe, and attractive, usually in a garden, yard, park, institutional setting, or estate.

Experience and specialization

Landscaping experience

  • The candidate must have landscaping experience in both residential projectsย and commercial/industrial construction.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience using weed trimmers/edgers, sod cutters, small engine equipment, rototillers, lawn mowers, and chainsaws.

Construction specialization

  • The candidate must specialize in the construction of automated irrigation systems, fieldstone paths, interlocking brick, ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, retaining walls, stone garden walls, and irrigation and drainage systems.

Specialization or experience

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about the Green economy sector.
  • The candidate must have specialized environmental skills and knowledge.

Area of specialization

  • The ideal candidate should be skilled in landscape construction and knowledgeable about plant identification.

Security and safety

  • The candidate’s driver’s licence should be thoroughly checked for validity.

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
