Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post will have to work for orientation, public safety and visitor experience information.
  • They’re also appointed to Adapt information when delivering presentations to address the needs of specific visitor groups and individuals, to reflect a target market and personal approach.
  • Candidates are also appointed to participate in the coordination and delivery of after-hours special events.
  • They’re appointed at this post to contribute to the overall national historic site visitor experience through the course of responding to general inquiries, direct visitors to sources of information and service areas, and direct visitor complaints. 
  • Candidates will also have to be attentive to national historic site conditions and environments to detect and report incidents and undesirable situations. 

Job requirement 

  • They must attain a dedicated post-secondary degree in history, archaeology, social science, and communications to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain experience in paid or volunteer work that entails direct contact and communication with the public. 
  • They must attain dedicated experience in responding to public and visitor inquiries and providing guidance and information. 
  • Candidates must attain experience in handling cash and operating point of sales;
  • They must attain dedicated Knowledge of Parks Canada and its mandate.
  • Candidates are appointed to maintain a positive and energetic attitude while continuously engaging with high volumes of people and a busy environment. 

Work setting 

  • Candidates must attain a valid First Aid and CPR certification to be eligible for this post.
