Job Description

  • The candidate must prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing pastry for special events such as weddings and birthdays.
  • The candidate must bake mixed dough and batters.
  • The candidate must prepare special orders.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising baking and kitchen staff.
  • The candidate must frost and decorate cakes and baked goods.
  • The candidate must ensure that the product quality meets established standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing sales and merchandising of baked goods.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English or French languages.
  • The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Baker Trade Certification and Food Safety Certificate.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate must have excellent time management skills.

Work setting

  • Accommodation will be provided for the candidate.
  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
  • The candidate should work in a supermarket/grocery store self-service shop offering a wide variety of food, beverages, and household products, organized into sections.
