Job Description
- Candidate will have to consenting patients/families to participate in next generation sequencing research related to cancer
- They’re also appointed to participate in other activities related to cancer research including maintaining ongoing REB approval.
- Candidates will have to work in contributing to the interpretation of genetic and genomic test results.
- Candidates will also have to provide genetic counseling to patients/families that participate in research and organizing the clinical confirmation of this testing.
- They’re also appointed to provide international leadership in genetic counseling services, research and education.
Job requirement
- Candidates must obtain effective oral and written presentation and communication skills, including telephone counseling.
- They must obtain superior critical thinking, organizational, time management, decision-making, teaching and continuous learning skills.
- Candidates must attain demonstrated leadership and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Candidates must be masters of science in genetic counseling.
- Candidates must attain experience in genetic counseling, preferably with experience pertaining to cancer genetics and pediatric genetics and in research.
Work setting
- Candidates must attain highly developed computer skills and/or the ability to learn new computer programs.
- Candidates must be able to handle the actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives.
