Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for brush collection.
  • The candidate must clean the crop.
  • The candidate must harvest vegetables by hand.
  • The candidate must be able to handle animals.
  • The candidate must harvest seedlings.
  • The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
  • The candidate will be required to pick up stones and/or wood.
  • The candidate will be responsible for weeding.
  • The candidate must harvest crops.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
  • The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect the product for quality and prepare it for market.
  • The candidate will be responsible for installing and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.
  • The candidate must load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry.
  • The candidate must clean the work area.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in French language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
  • The candidate must be able to lift weights of up to 9 kg (20 lbs), 23 kg (50 lbs), and more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include fruit and vegetable combination farming, hay farming, other miscellaneous crop farming, and soybean farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, hot, and cold/refrigerated conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.

  • The products are coniferous trees and deciduous trees.

Type of crops

  • Crops include soybeans, strawberries, and sweet corn.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience operating haying equipment, manure spreaders, swathers, tractors, and hand tools.
