Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of cleaning the crop.
  • The candidate will be in charge of fruit tree training.
  • The candidate will be in charge of cleaning the greenhouse.
  • The candidate will be in charge of harvesting vegetables by hand.
  • The candidate will be in charge of hoeing crops.
  • The candidate will be in charge of mixing fertiliser.
  • The candidate will be expected to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
  • The candidate will be in charge of vegetable culling.
  • The candidate will be in charge of weeding.
  • The candidate will be required to fertilise and spray crops.
  • The candidate will be in charge of harvesting crops.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect the product for quality and prepare it for market.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work Site Environment

  • Farm operations include corn farming and fruit and vegetable combination farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, dusty and hot conditions.

Work Setting

  • Accommodation will be provided for the candidate.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.
  • The candidate must be willing to relocate to the specified location.

Experience and Specialization

Type of Crops

  • Crops include apples, asparagus, bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers, field berries, garlic, melons, strawberries, sweet corn, and tomatoes.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with a carrot seeder, farm truck, fertiliser applicator, planting equipment, seed drill, sprayer or duster, tillage equipment, tractor, and vegetable harvester.

Automated systems experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with an automated irrigation system and a feeding and watering system.
