Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to conduct follow-up assessments.
  • The candidate will be expected to provide suicide and crisis intervention.
  • The candidate will be expected to resolve conflicts.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise children’s visits with their parents in order to ensure their safety.
  • The candidate must assist offenders with pre-release and release planning.
  • The candidate will be expected to put in place behaviour management programmes.
  • The candidate will be required to keep programme statistics for evaluation and research purposes.
  • The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
  • The candidate must accompany clients to appointments and social outings.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma from a College, CEGEP, or other non-university programme lasting 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR, as well as a First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must be flexible.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The work site environment will include child welfare, socioeconomic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance), and programmes dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Work setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in the employer’s or client’s home.
  • The candidate will be required to work in various locations.
  • The candidate will be required to work in a government department or agency as well as live in a private residence.
