Job DescriptionÂ
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to ensure safe and efficient operation by the Canadian Electrical Code, Northwest Territories Safety Regulations and departmental policies and procedures.Â
- Candidates are also appointed to conduct electrical and electronic inspections and repairs on highly sensitive and critical systems in buildings.
- They’re also appointed to manage over 1000 work orders per year at an approximate value of $250K.Â
Job requirementÂ
- Candidates must attain knowledge of electrical systems, electronic components, boilers, HVAC and other healing and building control systems to be eligible for this post.Â
- They must attain the ability to diagnose faulty equipment, troubleshoot and make repairs.
- Candidates must attain the ability to communicate effectively with apprentices, other trades, contractors, suppliers, factory technical staff, designers, engineers, and managers.
- Candidates must attain the ability to ensure installation, repairs and operational functionality are achieved efficiently and effectively.
- They must have the ability to train and mentor apprentices and other helper positions.
- Candidates must attain the ability to communicate effectively with clients to coordinate equipment and facility downtime and arrange appropriate times for accessing buildings.Â
- They must have the ability to keep records in order to document work performed on assets and ensure an adequate supply of materials are on hand to complete work to be eligible for this post.
Work settingÂ
- Candidates must have certification as a Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician and have 5 years of directly related experience in both electrical and electronic systems to be eligible for this post.
