WRHA has released a notification in which they’re inviting candidates for the post of Dietary Aide. They are responsible for bending, gripping, lifting, pushing, pulling and standing for long periods of time. They stock and replenish food and supply in designated areas. They are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, smallwares and service areas.

Job description
- Candidates assembly and distribution of patient meal service following safe food handling practices.
- They assemble the meal trays accurately according to the defined portion size and tray ticket.
- They prepare and portion food items as indicated on tallies, prep charts and nourishment labels.
Job requirement
- Candidates must have previous experience in food service.
- They must have minimum Grade 10, Manitoba Standards.
- Candidates must have a valid Food Handlers Certificate.
- They must be able to read, write and speak English effectively, with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- They are able to work in a cold environment (3-10 degrees), and/or warm environment.
Work setting
- Candidates must have proven ability to adapt to changing tasks and demonstrate accurate hand eye coordination with manual dexterity in both hands.
- They must have ability to work as a team member and independently in a time sensitive environment.
- They are able to handle 20 to 45 lbs. The vast majority of the strength demands are between 10 to 20 lbs.
