Criminal Record Information Coordinator

Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to submit final dispositions linked to appropriate fingerprint submissions through CJIM to the National Fingerprint Repository.
  • Candidates working at this post are appointed to prepare and issue Warrant Applications for accused persons who failed to appear for fingerprinting, updating Sentry and notifying the member in charge of the investigation.
  • Candidates are also appointed to manage and respond to incoming emails and the Canadian Police Information Centre regarding enquiries or requests for assistance from CPS members or business units.
  • Candidates working in this post are also appointed to process and evaluate requests from individuals and law firms relating to the destruction of identification files for non-conviction dispositions. 
  • Candidates are also appointed to authorize or deny requests based on legislated and internal policy.

Job requirement 

  • Candidates must attain a high school Diploma or equivalency to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain a minimum of 1 year of related experience including criminal disposition reporting and knowledge of the Criminal Code, Identification of Criminals Act and Criminal Records Act.
  • Candidates must attain experience with Justice Online Information Network, Sentry, Canadian Police Information Centre, Offender Records and Correctional Administration. 
  • Candidates must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and dedicated experience with Criminal Justice Information Management to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must attain previous experience in a law enforcement or court environment.
  • They must attain the ability to remain calm in stressful situations to be eligible for this post.

  • They must attain excellent communication skills, and support and foster relationships for team building and teamwork, requiring high attention to detail.
