Job Description

  • The candidate must harvest crops.
  • The candidate must feed and care for animals.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must be familiar with apiary work.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The type of farm operation is other miscellaneous animal farming.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
  • The candidate must be able to work in hot conditions.

Work setting

  • Accommodation facilities are available to the candidate.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in rural and remote areas.

Experience and specialization

Apiary and honey harvesting experience

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about honey harvesting, honey bees, and honey farms.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience operating a farm truck and a lift truck.

Automated systems experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with an automated honey extractor.

Additional information

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • The candidate must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
