Job Description
- Candidates interested in this post must ensure that the operations, processes, and services are customer-centric and efficient.
- Applicants who applied for this post are also accountable for delivering community recreation programs through geographically aligned areas across the City, and aquatic, sport and physical activity programming for all ages.
Job requirement
- To be eligible for this post, candidates must have completed a college diploma or university degree in Recreation, Child Care/Youth Worker, Kinesiology, or Physical Education.
- To be considered an asset for this post, they must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with multicultural youth aged 12 and up.
- Applicants must have Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates to be eligible for this post.
- To be eligible for this post, applicants will receive a crisis prevention/intervention training certificate and AODA customer service/IASR training.
- To be preferred for this post, applicants must be familiar with Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- They must attain dedicated knowledge of the City of Ottawa and Parks & Recreation Branch Policies and Procedures.
- To be considered an asset for this post, applicants will also adhere to relevant standards of practice and have dedicated knowledge of learning disabilities and appropriate intervention strategies, social skill development, and task analysis processes.
Work setting
- Applicants must know about treatment programs and must have well-developed communication skills with children and youth.
