Job Description

  • The candidate must tie and secure plants.
  • The candidate must weed, prune, and trim trees and plants.
  • The candidate must cut grass.
  • The candidate must rake and collect trash.
  • The candidate must remove garbage and litter.
  • The candidate must cart and spread topsoil and other materials.
  • The candidate must lay sod or seed.
  • The candidate must plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs.
  • The candidate must apply fertilizers.
  • The candidate must be able to maintain and repair equipment.
  • The candidate must write daily basic progress reports.
  • The candidate will be responsible for watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for removing trees.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The candidate must be able to work at heights.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in staff accommodation that offers live-in accommodation when an employer provides a housing offer to its employees.
  • The candidate should work as a landscape contractor to create and construct large and small projects for residential and commercial properties.
  • The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
  • The candidate should work in the landscape maintenance division, which is the art and profession of keeping a landscape healthy, clean, safe, and attractive, usually in a garden, yard, park, institutional setting, or estate.
  • The candidate should have an on-site customer service system where employees work in an office or business location.
  • The candidate should work in a commercial setting that produces a workforce full of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
  • The candidate should work in associations and non-profit organizations, a legal entity organized and operated for a collective, public or social benefit.
  • The candidate must work for a moving and storage company.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience operating chainsaws, pickup trucks, rototillers, small engine equipment, tractor mowers, and weed trimmers/edgers.
