Job Description
- The candidate must interpret welding process specifications.
- The candidate must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes.
- The candidate will be expected to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
- The candidate must be able to operate either manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- The candidate must be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
- The candidate must be capable of fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
Work setting
- The candidate will be required to work in various locations.
- The candidate must work in commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential settings.

Type of materials
- Materials include aluminum alloys, copper and copper alloys, nonferrous materials, stainless steel and steel, iron, and heavy metals.
Welding techniques
- Welding techniques include oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW).
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have prior experience operating an arc welding machine, a gas welding machine, and a soldering machine.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be skilled in custom fabrication, structural construction, factory assembly, cast iron and other metals, ornamental work, and fencing, balconies, stairs, and railings.
