Job Description
- Candidates who have applied for this post are required to prepare and administer medication including subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, vaccines and treatments working at this post.
- They’re required at this post to perform physical assessments and behavioural assessments working at this post.
- Applicants working at this post are required to record observations and identify and report health concerns of animals working at this post.
- They are also required at this post to assist the veterinarian during the examination of animals, providing effective restraint as needed to work safely and effectively.
- Applicants at this post are required to assist and perform euthanasia under the direction of the veterinarian working at this post.
- They’re required at this post to participate in the delivery of public education programs and animal services events working at this post.
Job requirement
- They must have dedicated post-secondary education in animal care discipline that is Veterinary Technology program working at this post.
- Applicants for this post must have considerable experience working directly with dogs, cats or small animals in a shelter and veterinary clinic setting working at this post.
- They’re required at this post to ensure prior experience in the use of a computerized records and data management system.
- Applicants must have good physical condition, agility and strength, and the ability to stand for a long period while cleaning and feeding animals.
- They must have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task to effectively carry out the various duties to be preferred for this post.
