Job Description

  • The candidate must diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks using physical examinations or laboratory tests.
  • The candidate must treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medications, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
  • The candidate must vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
  • The candidate will be responsible for advising clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
  • The candidate will be responsible for enforcing government regulations regarding disease control and food production, including animal or animal-based food inspections.
  • The candidate must perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
  • The candidate must provide a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
  • Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
  • The candidate must be certified by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and licensed by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
