Job Description

  • People who applied for this post are required for maintenance of small equipment and special equipment such as fire, ambulance, ice resurfacing, turf, etc.
  • Candidates are also accountable for repairing performance analysis working at this post.
  • Candidates are also required for Technical Services including specifying, acquiring, leasing and disposing of Municipal Fleet Vehicles.
  • People who applied for this post are responsible for performing a wide range of duties expected of a Vehicle and Equipment Technician 2 working at this post.
  • They’re accountable this post for performing all maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of fleet vehicle systems and components working at this post.

Job requirement

  • Candidates must have completed the Truck and Coach Technician 310T apprenticeship program of 6720 hours to be preferred for this post.
  • They must have a minimum of 2 years of experience within a Municipal Fleet or similar truck and coach environment.
  • Candidates must have a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Truck and Coach Technician 310T to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must have a valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Motorcycle Technician 310G for specific positions.
  • Candidates must have completed the TSSA Regulated Fuels Safety certificate to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting

  • Candidates must have completed City policies and procedures affecting shop operations to be eligible for this post.
  • Candidates must have considerable knowledge of the vehicle systems and the standard practices, safety issues, materials, tools, equipment and supplies to carry out maintenance operations to be preferred for this post.
  • They must have prior manual and electronic diagnostic equipment to be eligible for this post.
