Job Description
- The candidate must maintain professionalism in customer service.
- The candidate must load and unload goods.
- The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks in order to transport goods and materials.
- The candidate must pay for and receive payments for goods.
- The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have an AZ class license, an Air Brakes Endorsement, an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, and a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
- The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
Experience and specialization
Documentation knowledge
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), trans-border documentation, and trip reports.
Type of trucking and equipment
- Trucking and equipment types include dry bulk, straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) and tractor-trailer.
Communication systems experience
- The candidate must be familiar with Citizens Band (CB) radio and Trip recorder (on-board computer).
- The candidate must be able to use GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation devices.
Transportation/travel experience
- The candidate must have transportation/travel experience in international, local, national, provincial/territorial, and regional locations.
- The candidate must have both long-haul and short-haul travel experience.
Additional information
Security and safety
- The candidate must have a valid passport.
- The candidate should be subjected to a thorough criminal background check, driver’s licence validity check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test.
Transportation/travel information
- The candidate must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
- The candidate must be willing to travel across borders.
- The candidate must be willing to travel for extended periods of time.
- The candidate must be willing to travel internationally.
- The candidate must be willing to travel overnight.
Own tools/equipment
- The candidate must have steel-toed safety boots.
